Adventures In Skincare

What is a girl to do when she can't leave her zip code with out a complexion catastrophe? ugh...

My lovely but fussy skin hates to travel. Each trip leave me dry, flaky, red, and or bumpy, along with the occasional full blow break out. I've been doing some research along with some trial and errors. There are a lot of factors that play into this however stress seems to be the most prominent.

This starts much sooner than you would think. The stress of packing and organizing your life for your trip is where it all begins. As stress causes breakouts, Who knew...

Here are a few things to try for those upcoming trips:

rub a dime size amount of olive oil to your skin- This is a very effective anti-oxidant and natural moisturizer, which is very easy to apply. Dab a small amount with your fingertip and leave it overnight. Wash the face in the morning thoroughly.

Honey & Rose water- Honey contains sufficient amount of anti-inflammatory substance, which helps reducing the effect of dry skin on face. Mix a spoonful of honey and few drops of rose water to be applied onto the affected facial skin. Leave the natural moisturizer on your face overnight and rinse the face with tap water in the morning.

Try a hydrating spray for your flight- Hydrating sprays are the perfect first ingredient for an in-flight skincare cocktail. Oily-skinned ladies especially will love this prep spray that absorbs oil and minimizes pores while still offering hydration. I like Urban Decay B6 Vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep Spray, $15-33

Use a mask when sleeping- I love all of Peter Thomas Roth's products but try his Camu Camu Brightening Sleeping Mask. It smells amazing and does wonders for the face. $30-60

And when all is said and done it really comes down to water. Hydrate yourself with lots and lots of water and coconut water
